This is a great family owned dining establishment on M55 in Houghton Lake. The food is great, service is timely, and a relaxing atmosphere. This place is very quiet first thing in the morning. If you are in the area and want some great home cooking stop in and see The Powells.

Was pretty empty when we came in, but wanted to try something locally owned. Good breakfast food! Our server (I think was the owner) was sweet. Joked with both my husband and I and friendly banter. I would’ve never had thought about coming here, but I’m glad we did!

We come here once a year during our annual Higgins Lake trip and the gentleman who I believe owns the place is very friendly, funny and helpful. The food is also very good and comes out hot and fresh. I wish we had a breakfast place like this by our home!

Adorable place, my family and I make it a priority to go at least once if not more. Food is great, staff is friendly, they treat you like family. I have been coming since I was little and it doesn’t disappoint even 25 years later!
